International Day of Women and Girls in Science

Every year on February 11 the global community of science, engineering, technology, and trades (SETT) celebrates International Day of Women and Girls in Science. In 2021, Amanda Fruci Communications worked with the Canadian Association of Girls in Science (CAGIS) on the #GiveGirlsRoleModel Campaign, an awareness and engagement campaign spotlighting the importance of providing children with diverse role models to reduce stereotypes and increase interest in pursuing STEM fields.

AFC worked with CAGIS to create a dynamic digital campaign that included working with their loyal community online, as well as media, influencers, and community partners to share content and drive engagement with the hashtag #GiveGirlsRoleModels—raising awareness, increasing CAGIS community reach, and increasing attendance for the evening’s virtual panel discussion on the same subject.

The campaign video successfully garnered over 15,000 views in 12 hours across all social media platforms and CAGIS saw an engagement spike of over 2000 across all platforms, gaining over 500 new followers. The evening panel event was very well attended, with over 70 people registering in a 12 hour period.
