Campaign Launch

In 2020 everything changed for everyone, and science became part of the everyday conversation. With that came an increase in the amount of scientific misinformation surrounding COVID-19 and vaccines. With this increase in misinformation, Science Up First was born. Science Up First is a Canadian coalition made up of independent scientists, health experts, and science communicators, who are building a framework to debunk misinformation online and in communities across Canada.

Amanda Fruci Communications was contracted by the team at Science Up First in a PR capacity to help launch a national digital engagement campaign that set out to debunk Covid-19 vaccine misinformation on social media and in the news. The campaign was hugely successful, resulting in three days of sustained national media coverage.
