Blue Whale Exhibition

The Royal Ontario Museum’s 2017 exhibition Out of the Depths: The Blue Whale Story was nothing short of remarkable. What began as an international news story in 2014 when nine whales died off the coast of Rocky Harbour, Newfoundland became a three-year legacy story for the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM).

Amanda worked as part of the communications team at the ROM as a senior publicist, and together with the Museums’ team of expert scientists, she was able to maintain international media coverage surrounding the story—from flensing and transporting the whales, preserving its heart, to installing the entire skeleton in a major exhibition never seen before.
